Nvidia GPUs receive driver updates soon after each version update of OS X. Only one driver is released by Nvidia and it includes support for all of their modern GPUs. You will not find individually named Nvidia drivers for OS X, they are all titled 'Quadro & Geforce Mac OS X Driver Release xxx.xx.xxxxx'.

  1. CUDA Application Support: In order to run macOS Applications that leverage the CUDA architecture of certain NVIDIA graphics cards, users will need to download and install the driver for Mac located here.
  2. Dec 08, 2018 The Mojave 10.14.2 update is the second major update for macOS Mojave. This update is very minor with some small change that addresses issues with certain Macsas well as some bug fixes. There are of course likely to be numerous changes not included in the release notes. 10.14.2 Update Quick Notes: Install Overview Download Mojave Update 10.14.2 USB Patch Nvidia Web Drivers (Not Available Yet.

Introduction

A post from Nvidia CUDA Product Management team on the Nvidia forums seems to suggest that Nvidia engineers are still waiting for Apple’s permission, or their assistance, to develop and release drivers for Nvidia graphics cards under OS X 10.14.

The post says…

“Apple fully control drivers for Mac OS. But if Apple allows, our engineers are ready and eager to help Apple deliver great drivers for Mac OS 10.14”

…which rather gives the impression that development on drivers has not yet started, or cannot start without Apple’s permission. Certainly, the drivers will need to be certified by Apple before they can be released. However there is no estimated time frame for that to happen. The way things stand, it looks like there may be a rather lengthy wait.

This obviously doesn’t apply to older Nvidia cards which were already natively supported in MacOS like the EVGA GTX680 Mac Edition

If you’re using an older Mac Pro, or a hackintosh, and you haven’t already jumped ship to AMD graphics cards with their out-of-the-box support in MacOS, now may be the time. Check out our Hackintosh Graphics card performance comparison in Mojave to help you make a decision.

Does anybody have a solution for this long standing problem?

Set compiler for cmake macos. I can't find any info on it, but only the other way around (e.g., how to set CMake to use clang). I've installed gcc-4.8 using brew, setup all dependencies, headers, etc, and now CMake refuses to use gcc. Oct 24, 2019  Why doesn’t CMAKECXXSTANDARD work for me on MacOS? That is a very good question! I’ve done some googling for how to set the C standard to C11. Most of the pages I’ve found have recommended using the CMake variables to set the standard and, if that doesn’t work, to just set the appropriate flags for the command line. I have a number of projects built using CMake and I'd like to be able to easily switch between using GCC or Clang/LLVM to compile them. I believe (please correct me if I'm mistaken!) that to use Clang I need to set. As an additional note, CMake seems to ignore whether CMAKEOSXDEPLOYMENTTARGET is set, overriding it with whatever is in MACOSXDEPLOYMENTTARGET. The former may be meant to be for internal use by CMake or something.
