May 04, 2015 After installing Yosemite, the 'scan to network folder' function on my HP 8600 multi-function printer no longer works. It seems to be unable to access the target folder on my iMac. I've tried tinkering around with the settings, creating a new target folder from scratch, deleting and re-installing the driver, etc, all to no avail. As other email accounts receive the email that means that the printer correctly process and send the email but your email account would not receive it from whatever reason.

Have you checked the Spam folder for your email account to ensure the email was not sent there?
What email account do you use?
Have you ensured you typed the email address correctly (and not wrongly added the address for the first time and saved it to the printer address book incorrectly).
Regarding the scanning to a network folder, Apple has implemented the new SMBX 3 protocol within Yosemite, therefore the feature has got broken. I hope a firmware to address connecting to an SMBX 3 shared folder will become available soon.

I'm dealing with exact the same problem at one of my clients at the moment. As far as I know, the problem is resulting due to an upgrade to SMB3 within OS X 10.10 Yosemite. I'm from Germany and inside of the german HP-forums there are alot more people also dealing with that issue.
There is one guy who had another printer from HP (it is also from HP but just another model) and he got it working. He posted a screenshot of his settings. Here is the link:
What makes me wonder, is that he is using slashes instead of backslashes. If I try to do this, the setup tells me, that the entered network path is incorrect.
He wrote on his post, that he thinks that it is crucial to write down the whole path to the share and also use the IP-Adress instead of the Computer's name. The fact with the IP is correct imho, since i could bring it to work by doing so back with mavericks when first it won't work either.
I couldn't get it to work by using (in my case) the path which is 192.168.2.106macintosh hdusersnaehringdocumentsscans .
With mavericks, the path '192.168.2.106scans' just worked fine.
I've been dealing with some huge Ricoh copy-system that had trouble using a modern SMB3 share as well and was only about to work properly after a ricoh technician showed up and installed a firmware update. I think that this could be also necessary for the HP Printer. It's just the question if HP will update it's printer or if apple will come up with some compatability update. So that's all i know. Please post here again if you can figure out something new.
