Newish mac mini, running 10.11. I set up a new network with a new (non-Mac) router a couple of months ago. My laptop (same OS) connected fine, as did my phone and iPad. The mini wouldn't connect at all. If I clicked on the wi-fi in the menu bar, it tried and ultimately said it was 'unable to join the network NAME.' If I went through Network preferences, it would show the network, but if I clicked on it in the drop-down box, nothing happened at all. I tried everything I could find, including following the OS X Daily article on the subject, which has worked for me before. Nada. Then I set up a repeater, in case the mini was too far away from the router. Same problems, and again, all other devices were able to connect fine. Ultimately, for a different reason, I shut down and restarted--and voila, wi-fi!!

Unfortunately, I had to shut the mini down completely for several days. When I booted up again, same problem. I reset the repeater to factory settings and set up a whole new extension to the network, and again, all other devices are able to connect to it. But the mini remains stubbornly unconnected. Again, I've tried everything I can think of, including of course restarting, but nothing has worked. I'm really at my wit's end, so I'm hoping someone has a new idea.
