I am getting an ewrror message 'EOS 2.13 cannot be used with this version of the operating system' this started after installation of El Capitan. OS 10.11.1 Does anyone have a similar issue or a fix. It’s OS upgrade time for Mac users. Yosemite bows out as El Capitan takes the stage. Last year at this time the move to Yosemite from Mavericks caused consternation among Canon photographers who relied on the EOS Utility as I reported last November first here on Photofocus. It took Canon a month to officially release the fix. The only problem is that you need to have EOS Utility installed on your computer. If you are like me, you threw the Canon CD away as soon as you opened you 5D Mrk II box. No problem you think, I just have to download the app from the Canon site. Problem is that Canon is only providing an updater, not an installer. Oct 24, 2019 OS X El Capitan remains available for Mac computers that can't upgrade to macOS Catalina, Mojave, High Sierra, or Sierra, or that need to upgrade to El Capitan first. Resolving Canon EOS Utility v/s Yosemite If you need to update your camera, transfer images, shoot tethered or load camera profiles, the Canon EOS utility is very useful.
